My art is inspired by my love of the nature within our local landscape. I am fascinated by everything in nature, but birds remain my favourite subject and encompass the majority of my work.

I like to feature the birds in my portraits in detail, and enjoy presenting the ‘subject’ as you would view a human portrait, that is mainly the head and ‘shoulders’.

Currently I’m working on a series of New Zealand landscapes, using mainly pan pastels and pastel pencil which are built up over many thin layers onto a charcoal base.
